Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor types a name, place, or other detail into a search box supplied by an outside provider, the query goes to that provider for processing. Hickory County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy and terms control its handling of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If a visitor sends an email or uses an available contact form, we retain the message and contact details as needed to read and answer it. We do not share a private message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Visit Data
Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems can gather technical information when a page loads. This data helps show whether the site is functioning and how visitors move through it. The information may include:
- The visitor's Internet Protocol address.
- The browser name and version.
- The device type and operating system.
- The pages opened and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- The date and time of each request.
Cookie Use
Cookies and similar local identifiers may be used to measure visits and understand how the site is used. Most browsers let a visitor reject or delete cookies. Blocking them can cause some site or partner features to work differently.
How Information Supports the Site
Collected information is used only for ordinary site operations and related services. Those purposes include:
- Keeping pages available, stable, and responsive.
- Passing a search request to the selected partner service.
- Learning which Hickory County resource pages visitors find useful.
- Finding errors, misuse, or technical failures.
- Displaying advertisements that may reflect general interests.
Government and Outside Links
Pages link to the Hickory County Sheriff's Office, Missouri corrections resources, court portals, federal locators, and independent search tools. Once a visitor follows such a link, the destination's privacy policy governs. Missouri Chapter 610 controls access to many public-agency records, but it does not replace the privacy terms of this privately operated website or an outside service.
Advertising providers may use their own cookies or identifiers to measure activity across websites and select advertisements. That tracking occurs through the provider's systems and is subject to its controls.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed or processed only through the following categories of recipients:
- Search partners that receive and process a submitted query.
- Analytics services that measure traffic and site performance.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements.
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard administrative and technical practices intended to protect information within our control. No website, network, storage service, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach, loss, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor supplied personal data may use the Get in Touch page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of our systems, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal data we hold about that visitor.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal data that no longer must be retained.
- Stop or restrict certain processing where the law provides that choice.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as site features, providers, or legal duties change. The updated version takes effect when it is posted here with a revised effective date.
